How to Get a Hamilton Family Emergency Bed

You are eligible for a bed at Hamilton Family Emergency Center if you are an adult or an emancipated minor with legal and physical custody of a minor, or if you are an adult or emancipated minor in her third trimester of a normal pregnancy or in the fifth month of a high risk pregnancy. Documentation is required for either type of pregnancy. HFEC accepts single parent families, same sex couples with children, and single parents with a partner, as long as the other criteria are met.

In order to obtain a bed at Hamilton Family Emergency Center, a person should call (415) 292-5228 at 11 am M-F. At that time, your family will be assigned either one-night beds or 60-day beds, depending on availability. If neither type of bed is available, you will be advised to call back at 5pm.

In order to obtain the assigned bed, you must arrive at 260 Golden Gate Ave. at 2pm. You will be asked to bring all documentation that you have, including IDs for adults, birth certificates for children, Social Security and MediCal cards for all family members, and income verification for the family.
